Hello! I'm Sean, and I'm a professional Game Master serving the seattle metropolitan area.

It’s an amazing time for long-time RPG fans like myself - who remember being one of the few people in my hometown who enjoyed these games - now watching the wonder and excitement of thousands of new players finding their own adventures for the first time! Carpe DM is here to cultivate that wonder.

You can also find me writing for the DM’s Guild and with Quill & Cauldron. Take a look at their last release, Ulruant’s Guide to the Planes: Acheron and my free winter fey horror adventure Salt in the Wound.

I’d like you to meet our party members…

James Schilling

James Schilling (he/him) is a Seattle-based actor, educator, playwright, and musician. He is passionate about the collaborative storytelling power and possibility for personal growth & discovery that can be found in tabletop roleplaying. He believes strongly in player agency and the presence of rules as guideposts for crafting unique and memorable moments (even if it bends what’s written in the pages of a rulebook).

James specializes in teaching RPGs to young / new players and running games for youth. He has extensive experience as a player and GM in D&D 5e, as well as experience in Call of Cthulhu, The Quiet Year, Shadowdark, and many of Grant Howitt’s One Page RPGs, but he’s always happy to learn a new system or build something together! More information on James can be found at jamesschilling.com.
